We made it … after nine (semi) straight days of posts on the wonders that are tequila/mezcal, today’s post is the last in our series dubbed Tequila in 10. As noted before, this will in no way be the end to our exploration of these spirits as this series has only heightened our interest.
After profiling some interesting tequila-based drinks we struggled with how to end things. In the end we settled on a little homegrown magic; tapping the not so creative juices that flow from theSpeakista’s drink making mind. You got it we are subjecting you to yet another one of our creative flights of fancy.
Throughout our ten day journey we’ve seen how good a mixing mate tequila can be. It holds up to fruit flavors; bitter flavors; loves aromatized and enhanced wines and is equally at home with a variety of sweetening agents. Recognizing this we set pen to paper for a rough skeleton of a recipe and set out for a little bottle diving on our shelf of goodies and after several fits and starts the Tholian Web was born. The rich flavor of tequila serves as the backbone to a house of many characters … bitter, sweet, fruity and even spicy heat all come forth on the palate with a nice linger layer of malty goodness.
If you are so inclined please give this one a try and let us know what you think.
